Across the southern states that make up the USA there are an array of bird species in particular that are only really to be found there as far as the continent is concerned, as it represents the northerly edge of their range. With the milder climate also offering a better place to spend the winter months too it means that from the coastal beaches of Florida, through the semi arid ranches of southern Texas to the empty deserts of New Mexico and the huge flocks of geese and cranes that hide away here for the coldest months of the year all offer uniquely different wildlife encounters if you look hard enough.
