The temperate climate of the UK means that woodlands are a large part of our historically natural climate even if finding them on any scale is increasingly challenging.  So many elements of the natural world call them home because if their unique combination of resources allowing them to live and breed successfully and time photographing as well as simply listening to the sounds of the forest is always time well spent.
