It’s a continent often referred to from here in Europe as the new world but that is based purely on history. In many respects it’s more like another world all together when it comes to wildlife with more unique species than I have worked with on any continent and an amazing diversity of habitats as well. It’s always puzzled me too just why it is probably the least well represented of the worlds regions in the world of wildlife photographs as a whole – maybe it’s because it’s harder work in terms of getting to and between places and good images are harder won, but that just adds to the appeal to me. These are some of my personal favourites including a taster gallery only for now of my much-loved Falklands which will be better represented when a 2021 project concludes!
